Israeli soldier Elor Azaria convicted over Hebron death

An Israeli soldier recorded shooting dead a wounded Palestinian wrongdoer when he had been disarmed of a knife has been guilty of homicide.
Sgt Elor Azaria, 20, shot Abdul Fatah al-Sharif, 21, within the head whereas he was lying immobile on a road.
The incident happened in Hebron within the occupied West Bank last March, when another soldier was injured.
Sgt Azaria same he thought Sharif might need an associate explosive vest, however, prosecutors same his motive was revenge.
The high-profile trial has proved extraordinarily dissentious in Israel, says the BBC's Yolande Knell in an urban center.
There are rallies to support the soldier and a few senior politicians backed Sgt Azaria. However, high military figures were fast to mention that his actions didn't mirror the values of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
